Random While Waiting

This is going to be all over the place, so hold on!!

If you read my last post you will remember that my One Word for this year is "Healed". I committed to living as someone who has received the ultimate healing because of Christ's sacrifice on the cross. Whoa...I did NOT know it was going to be so tough. Good thing we don't know what waits for us around the corner, huh?

Last night I received an email from someone wanting to encourage me. She shared some verses that as she said "brought her spiritual strength through the darkest of times".

We are having some dark times right now. Well, they seem dark when I look at them with my human eyes. David (my son) is no longer living here. It became apparent that if I didn't take action now he might stay on the road to self destruction. So, guess where he is staying? WITH HIS DAD!! Is David thrilled about this? No. But that is not the point. He needs a good dose of "dad" in his life and we are doing what we think is best for him.

So, back to those verses that were shared with me. Psalm 27: 13 & 14 "I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD".

I am believing that I will see the goodness of the LORD even in this situation. Already I see the beauty from the ash in the fact that David's dad is getting to spend time with him. He has wanted restoration of that relationship for over three years. I am not saying it is restored but it sure is a start. What satan meant for evil God will use for good.

My symptoms have been raging since the beginning of the year....where is God in that? Well, He sends people at just the right time, it kept me at home with plenty of time to pray over what to do about David, reminds me to be grateful for the ordinary....

Are you tired of waiting for God to show up in a certain situation? Guess what? He is already there! He just hasn't answered or acted in the way YOU want. Well it is not about us. It is all about HIM.

Take heart and wait for the LORD.....I am trying.

p.s. for those of you who have asked about "my man"....it was his mom that sent me those verses!!

That's the very same scripture I shared in our most recent letter to our Compassion kids -- taken from what we had learned while waiting for news about our adoption, and through some other very difficult times...

I also recently wrote on the blog about difficult times and our perspective through it, how much of a difference it makes, and what an opportunity difficult times are for worship of the One who provides in all situations...

He really is there. I pray that this time with David's dad will be healing for you all. A boy does need his dad, although that isn't always possible.

Thanks for the verses! We are having some really tough times here too and I am waiting on the Lord to see what He will bring about!

I was going to ask about your man, so glad you didn't make me....just gave up a little info! :)

Hi Sheryl

It's been a while since I stopped by and I saw your post this morning in my RSS feeds. So good to hear you are hanging on to your Lord.

Waiting is hard. May He gives strength and courage to do exactly that.

I found this very encouraging devotion from Streams in the Desert...here's an excerpt and you can read more of it on my blog if you wish....

This Thing is from ME

"This thing is from ME" (1 Kings 12:24)
"Life's disappointments are veiled love's appointments."
My child, I have a message for you today; let me whisper it in your ear, that it may gild with glory any storm clouds which may arise, and smooth the rough places upon which you may have to tread. It is short, only five words, but let them sink into your inmost soul; use them as a pillow upon which to rest your weary head. This thing is from Me.
Have you ever thought of it, that all that concerns you concerns Me too? Fort, “he that toucheth you, toucheth the apple of mine eye” (Zeck 2:8). You are precious in My sight (Isa 43:4). Therefore, it is my special delight to educate you.

It is a rare & beautiful thing that we get to actually witness someone walking the broken road who is willing to share the sights there.

We believers need to be authentic with each other, for who knows what comes around the next bend for each of us? Your encouragements become my encouragements, and vice versa.

We may not know what's what when we place our next step, but we DO know that we win. We've won. I can hardly wait to see the bigger picture when at long last it has taken shape (in your life, and in mine).

Thank you for your sincerity.

Read this the other day but didn't get a chance to comment yet. This entire week I've had this song in my head:

I adore the words to this song and have been trying to embrace them myself recently. As soon as I read your post, I thought of this song and now I can't seem to separate you from the song. :) You know I'm praying for you and your family and that's not going to stop anytime soon. Love you!

Praying for you, Sheryl. I totally understand how hard it is for one of your kiddos to not live at home. Hoping your health is turning around for the good this week.

Praying, waiting and letting God do what He does best is the best thing you can do for your son. Be strong and when you become weak God will be your strength.

Sending David to his dads = great idea. I wish when I went through my divorce and problems with my youngest son that I would have let go and do that very thing.

Sometimes when God heals it is in ways we cannot comprehend. I will pray I know how important your family is to you via FB. Beautiful children.
Love you if need anything let me know

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord
