Healed

Healed.

That is my One Word for 2011. My friend Alece over at Grit and Glory writes a blog post at the beginning of each year where she challenges us to pick our one word. I have been dragging my feet writing this post because I don't know if I will be able to follow through with living out my word.

Healed.

Isaiah 53:5 says, "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. "

Do you see that? Don't miss how HUGE that is. He was pierced, crushed, punished and wounded so that we would be healed! That is not a physical healing but something even greater. A healing of our hearts and spirits.

Healed people forgive.
Healed people love with a genuine love.
Healed people need not fear.
Healed people aren't selfish.
Healed people trust.
Healed people let go of the past and don't hold grudges
Healed people believe what God says.
Healed people don't need others to fill their emptiness.
Healed people....have so much that God has offered to us and yet we don't fully receive His gift.

Jesus did not suffer the cross that we could live lukewarm lives. He offers us peace! What would it be like to let God's peace truly rule our lives.

Tired of living wounded. I want to walk in the freedom of Jesus' healing.

Here I go...I am going to do my best to honor God's enormous sacrifice and start living HEALED.

That's a message and an inspiration for me! I, too have a word for the year, but I'm going to keep it inside for now. At the end of 2011, I hope to be able to write that I learned a new thing, both about myself and about my Lord. It will really be about Him because I know myself well enough to know I can do nothing without His help!!! :)

I heard someone say once that when we've been healed of a wound, it leaves a scar. Scars are not a sign of the wound, but of HEALING! I loved that! Go forth, my friend!

Amen, my sister. I'm praying for you as you live in the fact that you are healed.

What a beautiful, hope-filled word! You can pursue it with certainty, too, knowing it's God's will (His known will) that you be healed, and that you are fully equipped to live out the abundance of life He promises.

My word(s): "Be it done unto me according to Your word." It's meant to convey a yieldedness of spirit; a confirmation of God's sovereignty in my life (like it was in Mary's, who spoke it).

2011 is a fabulous year to grow strong, and healed ....

Hugs,
Kathleen

I'm with you, sister!

I haven't blogged in quite some time, nor have I read blogs much at all..so, I thought it was interesting that my first blog in over a year and a half should be titled "A Time to Heal", and then I come and read yours. I guess it is that time of year, but I always did find a kinship in reading what you post. :)

Beautiful and amazing! Healed! Thank you for sharing that.
My "words" for 2011 is "to live each day", not just to go through the day, but to LIVE it.

Thanks again for sharing!!!

Many are better off lukewarm rather then cold. The hot will be an inspiration to both. There are also those that such extremism as hot - is too much; preferring a moderate approach. Could you imagine the travesty of the hot and lukewarm being inspired by the cold? What of those who are offended by the too little?
