David

Just a quick post to ask your prayers for David. His heart needs healing desperately. I want to honor his confidentiality but just know that he is really struggling with his feelings toward his dad. He also questions God and why He is not answering any prayers. (yes we know He is answering, but you understand this coming from a 15 year old boy). Anyway, please just pray as God leads you. Thank you so much for being friends that I know I can come to and you will intercede on our behalf.

Our great God is so much more than capable to heal broken hearts. I'll be lifting David (and you) before the throne of grace asking Him to do His perfect work in all involved.

Blessings, dear one.

Father,

I lift David to You. You know all about this situation. I am so thankful that it did not surprise You and that You are already working on the solution. Show Yourself real to David today. Work in his father's life as well. Help David to realize that You are not like humans who hurt each other...You are our God who only wants the best for our lives. Father, give Sheryl comfort as she helps David. Help her to listen as he talks and give wise advise that can only come from you.

Father, I trust You with this need.

In Jesus' Name,

Sheryl D

Father,
Give David wisdom beyond his years. He is so hurt and angry. Let him know that You understand his feelings and let him know it is ok to pour out his hurt and anger at Your throne. Remind David that, unlike we humans, YOU will NEVER leave him. Lord I lift up Sheryl and Ellie. It is so hard to see your son and brother hurting. Please bless this wonderful family with your supernatural peace.

Asking all these things in Your Holy Name,

LINDA

Hi Sheryl

I have not been around lately, but I felt drawn to read your blog today. I am glad that I did.

I pray that David feels God's loving arms around him. I pray that he finds comfort, guidance and a sense of calm. A teenage heart is very fragile indeed.

Take care Sheryl and let us know how your boy is doing.

Love,
Denise in Texas

What a nice looking kid and a great smile. I bet he has a wonderful personality. I'm sure it must be so hard for him as a young man. They say the same sex parent has the most influence on the child. However, I know God has provided David with a very strong mother to make up for his dad's absence at this time.

I pray that David can learn to understand that God does hear us and answers but that His ways are higher than our ways. I know that must be very hard for such a young person. Heck, it's hard for this 34 year old to understand why God answers the way He does and why He works in the ways He does.

I pray with your guidance and leadership that he may begin to understand that quality about God. Trusting He knows best and WILL and IS doing best.

I pray that David may encounter a male figure you can guide him in the Lord during his father's absence.

Love and prayers,
Paula

Sheryl, I will be praying for David and for your wisdom in trying to help him. My son was 15 when his dad and I divorced. It's an awful time as they are starting that questioning period of their lives anyway. God will guide his heart and I'm praying for your husband's heart to be in tune with David's needs! Much love in Christ. Nancy

Oh,to watch your child go through stuff is so hard. The hardest part for me is learning to stay out of the way and to not rescue them and instead let God do His thing.
God will be faithful!

Hi, Sheryl, I was reminded of something just today that I think may help explain a little about prayer to your son...it helps me every time I remember it. Here it is:
In one of her studies, Beth Moore said that not even Jesus got everything He asked for--i.e., the Garden of Gethsemene--but that the reason He got a "no" was because there was greater glory at stake. She says it's the same in our lives. If we've prayed in accordance with His Word and His character and we still get a "no", it's because there's greater glory at stake. God has prioritized the internal work--making us more like Him--over the external work. "And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory...." 2 Corinthians 3:18 I found this to be very encouraging. Hope it helps.

Sheryl,
I will pray for your son and know that God will carry him through. I know my son had very bad feelings toward his father. It started when he was around that age and he is 33 now and still only tolarates him. My daughter use to be "daddy's little girl" and just recently realized that what he is really all about. She is devastated. She is 35. So I know the heartbreak it involves. I pray that peace will come to all of you.

Blessing,
Jeani
