What Did You Do Last Night?

Well...thanks for asking! Let me tell you what I did. I went out to eat at a restaurant! Would you like me to repeat that? I WENT OUT TO EAT AT A RESTAURANT. If you're new here, you think I'm a crazy woman but if you've been with me awhile I hope you're celebrating God's healing power right along with me. For 19 months I've not been in a restaurant. It was impossible. Last night I went back to my favorite with a couple friends and some of our kids. Can I just say what a riot! Food was great, laughs were many (and loud), company was some of the best and God gets all the glory.

I caught myself complaining yesterday. About someone. Someone that "bothers" me. I was reminded that it is something I have been missing out - being annoyed by this person. Grateful to be among annoying people, now there is a new concept for me. I have said that I don't want to forget all the lessons I've learned during my perch sit. I want to be different. Lord, please don't leave me without a permanent reminder of The Perch. May I take this year & a half and be different "out there".

May each day no matter how mundane be a blessing to you. Let's not take it for granted. The ability to scrub the floor, grocery shop, be amongst annoying people, go out to eat, walk, serve the Lord, carpool, go to work, attend church, cook a meal, take a meal, shovel the snow....ok I will quit. Can you tell I am just a bit excited to do the ordinary.

Thanks for continuing on this journey with me. You'll never know how much you have meant to me. This has been the hardest trial of my life. I know I have a long way to go and I am hoping you will continue to walk this out with me.

By the way...I had a large order of guacamole (to myself), 2 enchiladas and finished it off with a large blizzard from DQ. (I knew you were dying to know)

Love ya,
~Sheryl

Well, Yippee-Skippy!! How about that? Fantastic. My mom always said in the midst of her journey with cancer that "Normal is good....normal is soooo good." She always loved the days in between treatments that she felt normal. You made me smile thinking about my mom today and knowing that God is performing such amazing healing in you in so many ways.

BTW, I also ate 2 enchiladas last night out with friends...they weren't annoying, though. Should have topped off my night with a Blizzard...you've got me thinking about one tonight, though. :)

Yahhh!!!!!!!! That is sooo exciting! So glad that God is healing you...actually you are already healed because of His blood, but it's just the journey to symptom free that is happening! You are an inspiration to me.

I am able to be out and about too now, although I have to pace myself quite a bit. Otherwise, I try to jump in head first and then crash with fatigue. Isn't it pretty cool to do things you weren't able to do before??? To me it feels as though I am learning to walk again... It feels like everything is a first. All with more joy than before!

Thanks for the reminder to never take any of my time at home in vain. I want to be different also. I want to be real and authentic for Him! Praise Jesus. You are right. To Him all the glory is due!!!!

Love you,
Nicole

I'm praising God with you...and I'm a bit hungry now, thanks!

I got a laugh out of the thankfulness to be around annoying people :o) It really is all about where our focus is, isn't it?

I'm off to clean my kitchen and try to be thankful that I can!

How wonderful that you could experience "normal" with your friends and kids! It must feel so incredibly liberating!

Your insight into being grateful for "annoying" people is something we all need to hear. So often, we tend to forget our need to be thankful to God and grateful for the "normal". Thanks for the reminder!

It's great to see the healing power of Jesus working -- not only in your physical body, but in your heart as well!

I'm so excited for you - and it sounds like you had some delicious treats!!

I appreciate what you're saying here about being grateful for the simple things, and even for the annoying. That's a hard way to feel gratitude for, but He has a lot to teach us in those moments of frustration - we'll learn together. :)

I am new here, and had to tell you how reading the posts on this first page touched my heart. Your heart and soul are out on this blog. I'm sure you are blessing so many by turning your sudden 'disease' into something God is using-just by being willing to do what you can...Much love to you, and I will pray for your family to be restored.

There are so many people praying for our little one and we would love for you to continue too. This is the first time I have been to your blog and I had to read before I left a comment. Please visit anytime and I will follow you too. Thanks again, Debbie
