I am a mom to 2 great kids. I am a child of God who is pursuing after Him as I learn to live in my "new normal". Diagnosed with a life altering illness in June of 2007 and the end of my marriage less than a year later, life has taken a new path. One that I am learning to accept and appreciate. As my illness caused me to be basically home bound, my family named the living room couch "my perch". Thus the title of this blog.
In June 2007 I had a "dizzy spell" that came over me without warning. After months of doctors appointments and testing I was diagnosed with a vestibular disorder. Our vestibular systems tell us where we are in space. Without it you will experience chronic vertigo and imbalance. Technically I have MAV (migraine asssociated vertigo) The migraine activity in my brain affects my vestibular system and has left me constantly dizzy although without typical migraine pain. God blessed me with the top doctor in the country for this disorder. It has affected every aspect of my life - no driving, no shopping, basically home-bound. BUT God can still use me! Trusting and believing that healing is coming. UPDATE: I am slowly regaining the ability to do some things!! Loving doing the ordinary.
It's my song! Or my song for you rather-ha. Seriously, I do love this one and my kids have even started to go around singing it I listen to it so much! Love you to pieces, Sherly, and praying for you today and always!
Sheryl, What a beautiful and true song, thank you for sharing. Yes I will continue to pray with you. Sometimes God will give us a special song, that is meant just for us and for our situation. And when He sends it my way I just saturate my self in It. I have worn out a lot of CDs because I knew it was His gift and His word for me for such a time as this. Blessings to you and your family. My dearest friend, I came in tonight and was able to sit down and have some computer time, I checked your blog and saw this post and listened to the song (my first time hearing it). I couldn't really hear it because of all the noise in the house so I closed it and went to bed.
I couldn't sleep (you know this is nothing new) but I felt a prompting to come back, so I did (1 am here I am) and I looked up the lyrics and listened to the song and cried.
I cried for you, for me and for everyone who is suffering right now. And it was cleansing and just what I needed. You continue to touch my life and you are always in my prayers. I will email soon. Sending Hugs.
Thanks for stoppin in! I'm definitely learning to live a new way and am so thankful!
I can't imagine the situation you're in. I wish I had some words of wisdom to give, but truthfully I don't really know what to say. I know that we have a sovereign, faithful God and that He is trustworthy. But i am sorry that you're having to go through this struggle!
Hi. You were on my mind today, so I just wanted to stop in and say hi. Thank you for posting this song. I love the song and was just the other day thinking about downloading it. Of course with two little ones, I can't say I actually made it to the computer:) I hope all is going well, and you are in my prayers.
Please be so near to our Sadie Sheryl and hold her through this most trying (crying) time. Wrap her in your loving embrace and fill her with the peace of your spirit and let the glimpse of hope emerge from her soul as she sings songs of praise to you for the faithfulness of you. Thank you, Abba.
