Woohoo!! God is Good...

I bet you think I'm going to give some really great spiritual lesson that the Lord has taught me. Well guess again. I am excited because I went to Old Navy and Wal-Mart today. (some of you who have never read my blog before are thinkin' this chick is crazy). Well being able to get out of the house and hold onto the cart for dear life...I felt like a kid at Disney. Isn't it amazing the things we take for granted and even dread and when they're taken away, how sweet it is.

Now I had to be driven there, of course, and I didn't do everything I would like and it was very difficult. But the thing is, God blessed me with the ability to do it. And I am grateful. You should have seen me at Old Navy, it was like I was on a timed shopping spree. I couldn't try anything on, so I was just throwing stuff in my cart (oh yes, you read that right, this dork had to have a cart). Anyway I was tossing in all sizes, colors, didn't matter. Upon returning home I'll probably only be keeping 2 things, but hey it's better than nothin'.

Now, isn't this riveting stuff today? Really I want to tell you that I appreciate your prayers. I am amazed at how God has brought a community of believers together to support one another. I KNOW that someone is praying for me daily. You are such a blessing to me, you have no idea. This is one more reason that I'm thankful for this awful season of my life. I would have never met all of you. Never been able to share in your sorrows, joys, hopes and dreams. I love who I am becoming because of getting to share life with all of you.

Please keep praying. I am far from healed. My marriage is still heading toward divorce. Life is terribly hard. BUT God is good. I believe that with all of my being. I am BELIEVING!!

Oh Sheryl, I am so happy for you! I can't imagine how hard it must be for you not to be able to get out sometimes. I can just picture you smiling and throwing things into your cart. :)

Wow. What power in what you call a simple post. See that is just it, I believe God wants us to seriously praise Him in the storms. He also, as hard as it is, wants us to praise Him FOR the storms. I read you doing that in your last paragraph...life is hard but God is good.

Also, I noticed you saying: This is one more reason that I'm thankful for this awful season of my life.

I too make it a habit of thanking God for all the good things that have come from my awful season. I mean how AWESOME is it to have an encounter with one's beloved who says horrible things and walk away GLAD that incident happened because of what God said through it and the revelation from it. ONLY God can do that.

We don't know the future in either of our lives, but we know WHO holds it and it's going to be good regardless if it lines up with our wishes/wants. I can only say this because I know we are children of the Almighty!

Praise be to Jesus, Sheryl!

I love you girl. I too am so blessed that my trial like yours has brought me to the blogging world to me such precious women!

What a great reminder, Sheryl! Trusting the Lord when it doesn't "make sense" is a hard enough battle, but learning to give Him praise and thanks in the midst of the storm is such a sign of maturity in one's walk. How wonderful that you were able to get out and shop... AND find that a praiseworthy event!

I continue praying for you during this stormy season.

Dearest Sheryl,
I am still dumbfounded at your generosity! You looked beyond your own circumstances and thought of me... and my mother! I'm still shaking my head at Our Loving Savior! He is soooooo good so keep believing Him to do huge things in your life! I'm still praying!
Love you,
Angie xoxo

Sheryl,

It's good that we can find Joy in the midst of hard times. And, to be thankful as well. If we stop and think even though we go through some extremely difficult times, we will be stronger, but during these times, we can still smile or be thankful!

Thanks for stumbling upon my blog and prayers for my sister.

Praying for you!
Cheryl

I do pray for your healing-in more ways then one (physically, spiritually, in your marriage). I do not know the specifics but when I went through my divorce, I focused my eyes on Him and though not everyone agreed to my life, I found God like I never had before and there has been a transformation that allows me to walk through the toughest of times. Walk in faith, believe He will overcome for you!!
You are a blessing!!

ps-I had tp delete my previous post because I didn't proof it for spelling errors...justcall me "professor"!!

Thank you for your comment on my blog. I know how difficult it can be to go through a divorce because I've been there, too. Just remember how much God always, always loves you.

What awesome timing. I was going to ask how you've been feeling physically and I was delighted to read your Old Navy story. Sounds like a fun shopping trip!

I pray that you continue to feel better and are able to get out more often. It does the soul good to be out and about with others.

Thinking of you in hot and sunny Texas.

Denise (who just may start a blog so you can get to know me too) SMILE

Hi, Sheryl. Thanks so much for visiting my blog earlier this week. I am so glad you did! I don't believe I've visited you before and found that I have really enjoyed my visit. I will be back soon and I will be praying for you and your family.

Have a great weekend!

Ok Sheryl, I give on this proofing thing. When I text the girls and I mis-spell I always say that "Just call me professor"-because I teach at a local college. My eyes go over things so quickly that I am the kind of person that could read an entire paragraph of misspelled words and understand it. Our minds are made that way...my just seems to work that way better!!

Still praying for you!

Sheryl,
First, thanks for visiting my blog... and second, thanks for every difficult but honest word you've written on your blog. You may think some of your posts are downers, or slightly Sybil-ish in light of others, but they are very much appreciated.

Life is rarely a steady climb toward happiness. There are mountains, valleys and sometimes even near-bottomless pits. Your triumphs are all the more precious to see when you've also allowed us a glimpse at your struggles.

Grace & peace to you,
Bethany

God can make ways in the wilderness and always brings good out of every situation....I have to be reminded of that myself (a lot lately).
